So firstly, I don't write a lot of reviews though I do purchase quite a bit from Amazon. I've been looking for a leather MC jacket for a few months now and decided that 2 criteria were most important to me (1) vintage/retro. I didn't want that old (in spirit) Harley dude or the yuppie/hipster that just got a leather jacket. I wanted something with a Cafe Racer 50's/60's feel/look that and that didn't look idiotic in bright yellow/green that you see a lot of wanna be's riding around wearing usually on Jap sports bikes (2) price/value. I was originally leaning towards a Dainese Ducati type jacket, an AlpineStars Velocity or an Icon Daytona Flattrack retro all of which are immensely nice leathers. However, each one of the above three are minimum lf $450 - $500 and up depending on sub-style. I've been spending a lot of MC accessories (and bikes - hee hee) and have a mortage, 3 cars and 2 kids. I needed a really nice 3.5 season jacket on a relative budget and though it unwise at this juncture to drop 5 C-notes on a leather jacket. I also own a perfectly functional Joe Rocket textile 4-season jacket that works great but that I really no longer like the look of.

Motorcycle Jackets - Mens Motorcycle Jacket with Armor MJ461 (Misc.) I bought this jacket from leatherup after reading the numerous positive reviews on the site. The jackets ( I bought two ) are horrible. The zippers are the cheapest zippers I've ever seen! They not only stick and bind on the material surrounding the zipper path but they also unzip from the bottom sometimes... The few extra dollars it would have cost to use a good YKK zipper would have been money well spent. Second is the build quality of the jackets themselves. I had every single plastic snap tear from the inner liner making it impossible to fasten the liner to the jacket. I also think the leather feels thin... and the textile lacks the thickness found in other name brand jackets. The leatherup site won't allow a negative review to be posted to the site so BEWARE!!!!

Padding is well placed and I hope will work good, and I hope I never test it out. Recommend this jacket. Well worth the price. Very visible which is the name of the game for me.

Diamond Plate Rock Design Genuine Buffalo Leather Motorcycle Jacket (Large) (Misc.) I bought this because I needed a jacket for my bike, leather offers the best protection, and this is cheap leather. As soon as I got it, I took a razor blade to it and got rid of the silly patches. Then I wore it for a whole day in which I rolled around my dirty garage floor changing oil & filter on two cars and a motorcycle. After that, I dusted off some of the dirt and grease (but being careful to leave some on for "authenticity"), and now I have a decent riding jacket. Not crazy about the zippered "mini-pockets," though...they are annoying.
